Recently, Algasol was privileged to host Dr. Xinyao Liu, Lead Scientist of SABIC, who remarked how impressed he was by the patented Floating PhotoBioReactor (PBR) for its cost-efficiency (CAPEX and OPEX) and seamless operation.

 

 

 

About Dr. Xinyao Liu

 

Dr. Liu is a lead scientist at SABIC. He has over 12 years of solid experience in photosynthesis, carbon fixation, genetic engineering and metabolic engineering involved in algal and cyanobacterial biofuel/bioenergy production (e.g., fatty acids, fatty esters and alkanes).The experiences gained from working in both academia and private industries have provided him with a multicultural background and a unique insight in evaluating cutting edge technologies. He also has 6-year hand-on experience on photobioreactor design and operation in different countries (China, US and Saudi Arabia). He currently holds more than 10 patents.
